Experience the best of El Questro in the East Kimberley on this epic 5 night photography adventure!
Capture the Kimberley's most spectacular landscapes!

Throughout this photography tour we will have the opportunity to witness and capture some of the Kimberley Region's most spectacular offerings, which may include;

- VAST MOUNTAIN RANGES
- RIVERS & GORGES
- ICONIC BOAB TREES
- PALM FRINGED RAINFOREST CREEKS
- DIVERSE WILDLIFE
- TOWERING WATERFALLS

El Questro is a vast wilderness park in the East Kimberley, covering almost one million acres. The Kimberley region itself is enormous - around 1.7 times the size of the UK - making it one of Australia’s last true wilderness frontiers. For photographers, this means endless room to explore and photograph the unspoiled natural beauty - with an incredible variety of subjects to work with.
The landscape is remarkably diverse, with rugged sandstone ranges, pockets of rainforest, and dramatic gorges and waterfalls scattered throughout the region. Waterholes attract birdlife and native wildlife, and four river systems flow through the property, supporting a rich ecosystem. Combined with the raw, untamed character of the Kimberley, El Questro offers an extraordinary setting for landscape and nature photography.

We'll be photographing iconic locations such as Emma Gorge, Zebedee Springs, and the Pentecost River Crossing.
Why a Nature By Nathan Photography Tour?
I have been passionately photographing Australia for the past decade, for many of those years I have also been running workshops and tours, ranging from 1.5hours to 15 days! Nothing brings me greater joy than sharing that passion with other keen photographers.

The goal of my tours is to offer value for money in both the experiences and education -  maximum profit is not the priority, which allows me to keep the group sizes small! There are no photography secrets on my workshops or tours, I will share everything I know when it comes to helping you become a better photographer.

I will never treat a photography tour as my own personal scouting trip. I only plan tours at locations where I am knowledgeable and experienced. This tour isn't "the Nathan show" - it's about you, and the beautiful destination that we are visiting. Whilst I may have my own camera in hand throughout some of this tour, it is usually for demonstrative purposes, and the guest's photography always comes first!
Testimonials
Hi Nathan

I wanted to send my sincere thanks for your personalised tuition and flexibility to ensure we all had a fantastic learning experience during your recent Cervantes-Jurien Bay Landscape and Astrophotography Workshop. Your workshop provided me with plenty of new information which I could put into practice there and then, and review with you in a timely manner.
With only six participants doing the workshop, we all received plenty of individual tuition which I found very helpful, especially in reinforcing your suggested techniques to take a quality and striking image.

The locations for each session provided unique photographic opportunities, I gained much new knowledge, which I can now put into practice.
I thoroughly enjoyed your workshop. We had a wonderful group of like-minded participants who were happy to share their personalised knowledge when it came to camera equipment and were great to chat to.

Thank you and I look forward to reviewing and editing my photographs and applying my new knowledge when out and about photographing.

With kindest regards,
- Lindy R.

I have attended two of Nathan’s photography workshops and have found these to be incredibly thorough and excellent value for money. Nathan is extremely knowledgeable in his craft and would highly recommend his workshops. I am also a Patreon of Nature by Nathan and find his content very useful - again providing excellent value for money.

Went on Nathan's 4-day photography workshop adventure in Karijini in April 2022 and it was one of the most amazing experiences! Nathan was not only an incredible teacher when it came to capturing breath-taking photos, but also an awesome guide through the Park over the 4 days; extremely generous with his time and knowledge. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend every workshop to everyone!

Tour Itinerary (Dates TBC)
All Nature By Nathan photography tours run with a flexible itinerary. I've been doing it this way for years so that guests get the best photographic opportunities possible, dependent on the weather conditions.

Imagine booking into a tour with a rigid itinerary, and heading out to do astrophotography on a cloudy night, when the sky was clear the day before, just because you need to stick to the schedule! That doesn't seem right to me - so instead we adapt to the weather conditions and pick the best location from the list of potential shooting areas. Where bookings are made with third party tour operators we will need to stick to booking times unless the provider is also flexible.

On this tour we will have:

- 3 Post Processing Sessions
- A minimum of 4 morning sessions.
- A minimum of 4 afternoon sessions.
-  At least one astrophotography shoot if weather allows.
- 1 open morning/afternoon where you can choose to relax, book a scenic flight, or re-visit one of our workshop locations.
- Opportunistic wildlife photography (crocodiles, birds, dingoes) if guests wish. We won't be looking for wildlife specifically but it is abundant in the Kimberley.
Photograph Ancient Gorges & Rivers.
El Questro is home to many beautiful gorges and waterholes. We'll be visiting the iconic Pentecost River & Emma Gorge near the beginning of our tour.
Experience Iconic Landscapes And Mountain Ranges.
The Cockburn Range is a dominant feature of the eastern Gibb River Rd. If the weather is kind to us, we will photograph the Milky Way above this vast landscape.
Relax In The Rainforest At Zebedee Hot Springs.
Soak up the serenity in the (28 - 32 degree) hot springs once you're done shooting for the morning.
Tread Beneath Towering Waterfalls.
Emma Gorge is one of the highlights of this trip, where a towering 65 metre waterfall awaits. An ice cold plunge is optional if you are feeling brave - or I can show you the way to a secret hot spring here! An open morning/afternoon also gives you the opportunity to book a helicopter flight to one of El Questro's more secluded waterfalls.
