For the past decade, Nature By Nathan Photography Workshops & Tours have ranged from 1.5-hour sessions to 15-day adventures, taking place across Western Australia, Tasmania, and online. Through these experiences, I share my passion for photography and the outdoors, inspiring others to appreciate the breathtaking natural attractions found throughout Australia.

2026 Photography Tours & Workshops
Mersey Bluff Landscape Photography Workshop
November 20th, 2026 | Maximum 4 Guests | $120
Designed as a hands-on practical experience, this 2.5-hour landscape photography workshop is perfect for photographers looking to improve their skills in the field while capturing the stunning coastal scenery of northern Tasmania.
Beginning at 6:00PM on Friday at the Devonport Back Beach, the workshop focuses on helping you confidently use your camera in changing light and challenging conditions. You'll learn how to achieve consistently sharp, well-exposed images, understand the technical settings behind successful landscape photography, and make the most of the beautiful light leading into sunset.
Throughout the workshop, you'll receive personalised guidance from your instructor as you photograph a variety of coastal compositions. Along the way, we'll cover camera settings, composition, working with filters, reading the light, and techniques for capturing scenes with greater dynamic range and creative impact. With plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive individual feedback, you'll leave with practical skills that you can immediately apply to your future landscape photography adventures.
Southwest Seascapes Photography Tour (WA)

The southwest of Western Australia is one of the most biologically rich regions on Earth, home to an extraordinary number of plant species found nowhere else. Each year from late winter through spring, the landscape erupts with thousands of wildflowers, transforming forests, heathlands, and coastlines with colour - it is one of the best seascape photography destinations around Australia - offering spectacular photography opportunities.
The region is boasts many national and marine parks, featuring ancient karri forests, dramatic coastal cliffs, and crystal clear water. It also offers one of the longest whale-watching seasons in the world, running from July through to November!

Southwest Seascapes Photography Tour 2027 (WA)
October 20-24 2027 | Maximum 3 Guests
Throughout this photography tour, we’ll explore some of the Margaret River Region and wider southwest’s most spectacular landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to photograph a diverse range of coastal and inland environments.
From crystal-clear coves and turquoise water to rugged cliffs, dramatic rock formations and secluded beaches, the southwest offers an incredible variety of subjects to work with. We’ll also venture into the region’s lush southern forests, where towering trees, winding tracks and flowing streams provide a completely different photographic experience.
The Otways Rainforest & Great Ocean Road
28 October - 3 November 2027 | Maximum 3 Guests

Over seven days, we’ll explore and photograph the diverse landscapes of Victoria’s Great Ocean Road and the Otways, with plenty of time to slow down and make the most of the conditions.
Along the coast, we’ll capture rugged cliffs, towering sea stacks, sweeping beaches, rocky coves and some of the region’s most iconic landscapes. Inland, the scenery changes completely, with lush temperate rainforest, towering trees, moss-covered rocks, waterfalls and winding streams throughout the Great Otway National Park.
With seven days in the region and a maximum of just three guests, this is a deliberately small and unhurried tour. The longer itinerary gives us more flexibility to explore beyond the main tourist stops, while the small group keeps the experience personal and helps us manage the crowds often found at popular locations.
From dramatic coastline to dense rainforest and waterfalls, the combination of the Great Ocean Road and Otways offers an exceptional variety of landscapes to photograph.
Lake Argyle Photography Tour (WA)
May 7th - 11th 2027 | Maximum 3 Guests. SOLD OUT

Throughout this photography tour we will have the opportunity to witness and capture some of the Kimberley Region's most spectacular offerings.
Lake Argyle is Australia's second largest man-made lake by volume, and its surface area is so large that it is classed as an inland sea. This truly wild place is home to a large population of over 30,000 freshwater crocodiles, short-eared rock wallabies, and over 240 species of birds.

Our focus over the 5 days will be capturing the truly incredible landscapes - travelling via road, foot, and boat - to see the very best of Lake Argyle. This workshop will take place shortly after the wet season, giving us the best chance of seeing the lake's spillway river!
El Questro Photography Tour (WA)
May 12th - 17th 2027 | Maximum 3 Guests. SOLD OUT
El Questro is a vast wilderness park in the East Kimberley, covering almost one million acres. The Kimberley region itself is enormous - around 1.7 times the size of the UK - making it one of Australia’s last true wilderness frontiers. For photographers, this means endless room to explore and photograph the unspoiled natural beauty - with an incredible variety of subjects to work with.
The landscape is remarkably diverse, with rugged sandstone ranges, pockets of rainforest, and dramatic gorges and waterfalls scattered throughout the region. Waterholes attract birdlife and native wildlife, and four river systems flow through the property, supporting a rich ecosystem. Combined with the raw, untamed character of the Kimberley, El Questro offers an extraordinary setting for landscape and nature photography.

We'll be photographing iconic locations such as Emma Gorge, Zebedee Springs, and the Pentecost River Crossing.
1.5-Hour Online Post-Processing Workshop - $95

Online workshops are facilitated via a video call service such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. One-on-one post-processing workshops are tailored to your needs and are suitable for photographers of all experience levels.
