The Otways Rainforest & Great Ocean Road

Over seven days, we’ll explore some of Australia's most spectacular landscapes - along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road and through the lush forests of the Otways. There will be plenty of time to slow down, explore and capture the region at its best.
The Great Ocean Road is renowned for its dramatic coastline, but there is far more to photograph than its iconic landmarks. Throughout the tour, we’ll have the opportunity to capture rugged cliffs, towering sea stacks, sweeping beaches, and rocky coves.
Inland, the landscape changes dramatically, as we enter the Great Otway National Park. Lush temperate rainforest, towering trees, moss-covered rocks, waterfalls, and winding streams provide a completely different range of photographic opportunities.
The combination of dramatic coastlines, ancient rainforest, waterfalls, and beaches of the Otways and Great Ocean Road make this an incredibly diverse photography tour.
Why a Nature By Nathan Photography Tour?
I have been passionately photographing Australia for the past decade, for many of those years I have also been running workshops and tours, ranging from 1.5hours to 15 days! Nothing brings me greater joy than sharing that passion with other keen photographers.
The goal of my tours is to offer value for money in both the experiences and education - There are no photography secrets on my workshops or tours, I will share everything I know when it comes to helping you become a better photographer.

We do not treat our photography tours as our own personal photography trip. We only plan tours at locations where we are knowledgeable and experienced. This tour isn't "the Nathan show" - it's about you, and the beautiful destination that we are visiting. Whilst we may have my own cameras in hand throughout some of this tour, it is usually for demonstrative purposes, and the guest's photography always comes first!

Tour Itinerary
All Nature By Nathan photography tours run with a flexible itinerary. I've been doing it this way for years so that guests get the best photographic opportunities possible, dependent on the weather conditions.
Imagine booking into a tour with a rigid itinerary, and heading out to do astrophotography on a cloudy night, when the sky was clear the day before, just because you need to stick to the schedule! That doesn't seem right to us - so instead we adapt to the weather conditions and pick the best location from the list of potential shooting areas.

If the weather is suitable we will venture out at night for some wide-angle astrophotography - and if we are really lucky the Aurora Australis could make an appearance!

Inclusions
- Travel from an agreed central pick-up point near Tullamarine Airport, to all tour destinations - returning to an agreed drop-off location upon completion.
** If travelling, please arrive in Melbourne the day before tour commences - as we must depart for Lorne no later than 10:00am on the 28th. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting your place on the tour. **
- Accommodation throughout the tour duration (likely a share-house OR cabin with own private room).
- Workshop tutoring and photographic instruction.
- A welcome dinner for all guests on the first night.
- Take-home landscape photography notes and guidance in PDF format.
Not Included
- Any travel outside of the workshop schedule.
- Comprehensive travel insurance (compulsory for participation in this event).
