Tasmanian Photography Tours and Nature By Nathan are teaming up for this photography tour in the spectacular Mount Field National Park.
Mount Field National Park is a place of fresh air, towering trees, and rushing water.
Sunday - August 30th 2026.

On this immersive and hands-on photography workshop - you’ll explore the park’s lush temperate rainforests - visiting iconic locations including Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls. This is a place where moss-covered trunks, fern-lined tracks, and cascading water create endlessly compelling scenes for you to photograph.
Throughout the day, I will teach you practical techniques for photographing waterfalls and forests, from managing dynamic range in harshly lit scenes, to refining compositions and making sense of a busy environment. A morning session on technique and editing will allow us to capture the falls and forest in soft afternoon light. There will be plenty of time to slow down, observe the landscape, and create considered images that reflect the calm, ancient character of this remarkable place.
Designed as a relaxed yet inspiring day in nature, the tour includes private transport and all park entry costs, allowing you to focus entirely on photography and the experience itself. This workshop is an ideal introduction to photographing Tasmania’s temperate rainforests.

Why a Nature By Nathan Photography Tour?
I have been passionately photographing Australia for the past decade, for many of those years I have also been running workshops and tours, ranging from 1.5hours to 15 days! Nothing brings me greater joy than sharing that passion with other keen photographers.

The goal of my tours is to offer value for money in both the experiences and education -  There are no photography secrets on my workshops or tours, I will share everything I know when it comes to helping you become a better photographer.

We do not treat our photography tours as our own personal photography trip. We only plan tours at locations where we are knowledgeable and experienced. This tour isn't "the Nathan show" - it's about you, and the beautiful destination that we are visiting. Whilst we may have my own cameras in hand throughout some of this tour, it is usually for demonstrative purposes, and the guest's photography always comes first!

Testimonials
Hi Nathan

I wanted to send my sincere thanks for your personalised tuition and flexibility to ensure we all had a fantastic learning experience during your recent Cervantes-Jurien Bay Landscape and Astrophotography Workshop. Your workshop provided me with plenty of new information which I could put into practice there and then, and review with you in a timely manner.
With only six participants doing the workshop, we all received plenty of individual tuition which I found very helpful, especially in reinforcing your suggested techniques to take a quality and striking image.

The locations for each session provided unique photographic opportunities, I gained much new knowledge, which I can now put into practice.
I thoroughly enjoyed your workshop. We had a wonderful group of like-minded participants who were happy to share their personalised knowledge when it came to camera equipment and were great to chat to.

Thank you and I look forward to reviewing and editing my photographs and applying my new knowledge when out and about photographing.

With kindest regards,
- Lindy R.

I have attended two of Nathan’s photography workshops and have found these to be incredibly thorough and excellent value for money. Nathan is extremely knowledgeable in his craft and would highly recommend his workshops. I am also a Patreon of Nature by Nathan and find his content very useful - again providing excellent value for money.

Went on Nathan's 4-day photography workshop adventure in Karijini in April 2022 and it was one of the most amazing experiences! Nathan was not only an incredible teacher when it came to capturing breath-taking photos, but also an awesome guide through the Park over the 4 days; extremely generous with his time and knowledge. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend every workshop to everyone!
